I Represent ?
“But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33
What does it mean to strive? To strive means to try very vigorously, to try really hard and fight constantly. If so, what am I striving for in life?
There are two things that are mentioned here; one is the kingdom of God and second his righteousness. What does it mean to be in a Kingdom? I believe it was John the Baptist who started saying 'the kingdom of God is near, repent', then later you see Jesus saying the same sentence and delivering people powerfully, healing the sick, raising the dead and bringing people back to God. Jesus was representing the kingdom of God as not something that depends on talk but on power.
In those times the people of God in Israel were under the rulership of a king - a Roman king. What did it mean for them to have a king ruling over them? Imagine at that time being a representative of a king, they would have had some seriously high authority and power. Similarly that is what we have in Christ Jesus too.
I belong to Jesus, He is my Lord and Saviour, because I am under the lordship of King Jesus, where I go the kingdom of God is represented and in the spiritual realm I have the soldiers of the kingdom with me, the Angels, Saints who are assigned to the ministry. Therefore, even if I was to go to another place or outside the jurisdiction of the country the moment I step in I am representing the kingdom and I can bring the kingdom of God to that place.
What does it mean to have the King's righteousness? In a kingdom you follow the rules and regulations of the King, likewise doing what is right by the king, seeking to do what is advised by him and is commanded by him is seeking his righteousness.
The word of God says that everything else, whatever it may be, all my needs whatever it may be it will be given to me when I do these!
Amen!
MEDITATE/KNOW/IMAGINE CONSTANTLY - I will do the works of the Kingdom of God and fight to do the commandments of Jesus
