LAMP

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭105‬

Whenever I read this verse I imagine myself holding up a lantern in the middle of the night on a deserted road. This is unfortunately similar to the life we live in now, because there is a lot of spiritual darkness in this world and without the light of the Word of God we have no clear view of the path we should take.

The verse mentions two things where the lamp we hold up shines on. First is our feet and then it says about the path. If we cannot see where our foot is stepping on then how do we know whether we are in a pit, or on the road or off the road? We also need to see what the road ahead looks like.

This is a lifelong process! Our entire life we need to carry the lamp of God with us! Otherwise we won’t know where we are standing and on what path we are moving forward on. Everyday we must consume the Word of God so that we can be guided by God’s Spirit concerning choices and decisions of life by receiving the revelation of Jesus!
