Purposefully Chiselled

“In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.”

Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭21-‭22‬

Why is St. Paul talking about construction and stones in this context?

He says that we are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Jesus being the headstone. So then, each one of us are compared to be a stone. If God is making a house then each brick needs to be shaped in the right way to complete the building. Therefore, each one has a part to play in the grand scheme of God’s calling.

Have you until now inquired of the Lord of your calling? Have you asked the Lord at this stage what it is that you are assigned in life? If your haven’t it is about time you do!

You cannot copy another person’s purpose because the way they are chiselled by God for his temple is not how you are shaped, your purpose is unique and not copied. Each stone is shaped to fit the corner, roof, pillar and every other part of the building. Your particular assignment is the one you will excel in and not in the copied assignment of the other person. Focus and become a master at your assignment. Grow in grace in the area of your calling.

We are built into a DWELLING PLACE for God spiritually. If we are the temple of God then all of us have an ALTAR in our hearts, a place we meet Jesus. Reflect for a moment on what is in your heart - Is there anything in there that is misplaced? Will you allow the house of the Lord to be unkept and become unclean? Make time for the Lord, let us cleanse everything in the house of the Lord that shouldn’t be there, keep it as clean as it should be, because this altar in our heart is where our true life flows from!

Amen!

MEDITATE/KNOW/IMAGINE CONSTANTLY -

I am being chiselled into perfection by the Lord
